Alma Clissmann – Secretary
Alma Clissmann trained as a solicitor and is a project manager in the Law Reform Commission since 2007. She previously was secretary to the Law Society’s Law Reform Committee for 7 years and member of the Law Reform Committee’s working group on reform of Charity Law.
As mother to Sarah, she is delighted to support the charity to help young people suffering from hair loss. As a Customs Supervisor, she is well aware of the implications of change on lives. She plays rugby for Tallaght RFC and she is an avid sports fan. She is looking forward to fundraising and working with the team.
Derek Seymour – Treasurer
Derek Seymour serves on a number of charity boards having worked previously in financial services including retail banking, business banking, risk management and venture capital. He’s a former Chairman of the Business Innovation Fund (small business seed venture capital fund). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland, and holds a Masters degree in Organization Behavior from Trinity College Dublin. He is director of music at Methodist Centenary Church and a former Chairman of the Dublin International Organ & Choral Festival (now Pipeworks). He is married with 4 children and lives in Dun Laoghaire, Co.Dublin
Beverley Barbour – Chair
Beverley is honoured to lend support to the Mia Charity in seeking to provide restorative options for patients dealing with the traumatic effects of hair loss. Having managed large teams and patients/client data bases, Beverley believes the need to exceed the expectations and give a little of ourselves is the key to continued success.
The experience of working for winner of ‘The UK Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For 2011′ has more than prepared Beverley for the variety that is the experience of life, people and work. With an HND Business Diploma (Merit), BSc. psychology degree and Masters in HRM in Business, she is well placed to contribute to the ethos of Mia. Beverley is a volunteer at the Royal Hospital, Donnybrook and has worked for five years on the helpline of a listening charity dealing with depression.

Dr Rosemarie Watson – Adviser
Dr. Rosemarie Watson MD, FRCPI, FACP is a graduate of University College Dublin in 1976. She trained in Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution Baltimore USA and was appointed to their faculty in 1986. She was appointed Consultant in Dermatology to our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Dublin and St James s hospital Dublin in 1992. She has a special interest in Paediatric dermatology.
Dr. Jacinta Kennedy
B.A., M.A., M. Psych. Sc., ECP, is a principal clinical psychologist and group analyst. She works in the Psychological Medicine Service.

Naomi Ryder- Governance
Naomi is a Training Co-ordinator working in Healthcare. She grew up in the UK, in Manchester, and lived in London for 5 years before moving “home” to Dublin in January 2018. When she isn’t teaching and training, she can be found singing with Rejoice Gospel Choir, baking all kinds of sweet treats, shouting at the rugby, and spending time with her extended family.

Matthew Dougherty- Marketing
Hi my name is Matthew, I’m 24 from Dublin and have just recently completed my Masters in Marketing from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. I’m delighted to be apart of the MIA team, where I can help assist with everything from marketing research to advertising and everything in between.
Janet Vernon- Administration
Janet is a Medical Secretary and mother to two redheaded girls who generously donated their hair
to make wigs for kids in the past. She enjoys going for walks with her husband and girls, reading, all
sorts of music, gardening and has attempted to learn French several times! She has experience of
fundraising and volunteering for Crumlin Children’s Hospital and her children’s school. Janet is very
grateful to have this opportunity to use her admin skills to help all the children with hair loss, to get
some normality back into their lives.
Peter Simpson- Website Management
Peter is delighted to work with the MIA Fund. He has an MA in International Relations from UCD. He also manages the website and social media activity of the Rwandan NGO the Institute of Conflict Prevention and Peace Building, where he was an intern in 2018.
